Zoe-perry
Perry is the daughter of actor Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. Her first appearance was on television as Jackie Harris, a character played by her mother in her role on the ABC sitcom Roseanne. Her parents, however, did not want her to take on acting roles until she was an adult, fearing the effects of stress. Perry she was shy for acting in high school, started to act in theater classes at Northwestern University because she wanted to meet new people. Perry managed to get minor TV roles in Law & Order: Criminal Intent following her graduation. Homesickness, however, caused her to move to California to return, where she started to work on stage. The Other Place was performed by her and her mom in 2013 on Broadway in 2013. In 2015 she performed alongside her father as well as Kevin McKidd in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning play Anna Christie at the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble in West Los Angeles. Perry played a role in 9 episodes of the ABC thriller The Family in 2016. In 2017, Perry had a minor role on the ABC political drama Scandal in which her father was the main character. The character she played was the younger Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) in Young Sheldon. This spin-off episode from CBS's The Big Bang Theory was another portrayal by her younger mother. The role was given to her through audition, despite the fact that she has a family tie with the character.
