Pickler lived in a difficult environment. To get rid of her abusive boyfriend, Pickler's mother left when she was barely 2 years old. Pickler's mother returned in 1995 back to her home and was given full custody. This did not go well. Pickler was then 12 years old and was returned to her parents by court. They took care of her until she turned an adult. Pickler was busy with raising her younger siblings in the absence of her parents. Pickler said she was not able to devote time to studies, she started to learn how to cook and clean at an early stage. Pickler was a member of her high school's and middle school's cheerleading team.
