Cahill began performing in the local shows of the high school her mother attended around the age of four. Cahill also began classes in dance and singing at the age of eight. Her title was Miss Pre-Teen Virginia in 1991 and the first runner-up for Miss Junior America. When she was a senior at Brooke Point High School she continued to act and was the president of a number clubs, including those of the Honor Thespians. Cahill, a junior in high school was only pupil in her class to score flawless scores in all phases of the audition for the Governors School for the Arts. Cahill also won the Overall Actor award in the Actors Models Talent for Christ competition at the age of 16. Additionally, she was picked to be part of perform in the Barton and Williams Dance Company winning both individual and corporate awards. Following her graduation from high school in 1998, she began her studies at Marymount Manhattan College (New York) with a performance and academic arts award. When she was 19, she quit school to pursue an acting career.
